Flipper nodded. "Okay, and I'd also like to order the goat makhani for that pretty lady over there," he said, gesturing over in a direction that he'd seen at least a couple girls that looked passable. But that wasn't what he was after; he was after the fact that he hadn't seen that dish on a menu since a quaint little port town on the Inland Sea, and he knew for certain that the Wok didn't have it. If she actually knew what was on the menu, then maybe she was legitimate, and probably just terminally stupid, or if she didn't, then who knows what she was doing.

"Oh! They sell makhani here? I haven't had a good buttered goat since An-Teng!" The waitress looked over to where a peddler was waving for assistance. "Let me go see what that guest needs, and I'll be right back with your Surprise Fish Butter Noodles."

The waitress jogged across the room, hands still in her pockets.

"Hello, sir! Welcome to Wok and Roll, the city's finest fried noodles and egg rolls! Can a get you anything? Makhani maybe?"

Flipper nodded wordlessly, waving her on. Yep. Definitely fishier than the bowl of noodles he had totally not lied about on the spot. Now he just had to watch and see what she did.

"Makhani? What, no." said Glass cocking his head at the waitress. Though he figured it was just her being overworked from today. "No no, you guys just served me. I believe this is the part where I pay to you the monies expected for the services you have how do you say rendered unto me." he shook his hands somewhat excitedly, more as a by product of the importance of enthusiasm in selling people things rather than any willingness to pay for his food. "Are you... having a special on Makhani or something?"

"What? Oh, no, I just found out we had it, from that guy over there. The Westerner. But yes, I can take your money now."

Flipper's eyebrows rose. This person was obviously just pretending to be a waitress, that much had been proven. Flipper leaned over to catch Glass's eye and shook his head, pointing to the waitress. He got up from his table and assumed a position somewhere nearby in the crowd behind her. He was going to have a little chat with her, as soon as she got done.

Glass cocked his head at the Westerner who'd called attention to himself, and the waitress. "Wait, don't you... work here? Surely you'd know if you had Makhani. Never mind, yes, uh... where would I go about paying for my bill to the restaurant?" Glass got the gist of the message the man had tried to tell him. This waitress seemed off, and if this simple question eluded her for too long then something strange was up, and more importantly, Glass would need to find someone actually in charge to pay his money to before excising himself from the store and getting a move on checking out Naraka.

"You had the, uh, fried noodles then? That'll be..." she stared at the ceiling, doing some mental math, "Uhh, three and a half cowries? No, wait. Silver. Jade? Three and a half jade? Mmm. Better just head up front to the till. They can make change."

The waitress was very slightly aspected towards the element of Air, though the indicators were too faint to determine whether she had divine ancestry, northern fae parentage, or the blood of the dragons.

Having Revived his Noodles, Shadow is heading to pay when he notices Flipper point at the waitress and shake his head. Assuming something is up, he positioned himself between the the door and the waitress.

"Can I... uh... get a denomination on that, ma'am?" said Glass, looking very confused. Three and a half silver wasn't technically an amount payable to most people, and if it was they were woefully ignorant of the real world entirely. "Silver, preferably, it's what I carry." Truth be told he might have had some jade script back in his wagon that he'd just neglected to exchange, but banking on that possibility wasn't very wise anyway, and besides, Silver was good everywhere you needed to be with the near exception of say... Yu-Shan, but that was a tangent all on its own.

"I'd hate to underpay for the fine noodles you have served to me this fine day."

"They'll have prices up front. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to--" her gaze snapped up to watch something on the third floor. Without looking back at Glass, she shot off toward the nearest stairs.

Flipper saw the waitress race past and decided he wasn't going to let her get away. He left his post in the crowd and headed for the next-nearest set of stairs, weaving through the tables and people. His plan was to hopefully reach the third floor either slightly first or a couple seconds after and see what she was going to do without being particularly noticed. Superior speed and maneuverability would make up for the longer route, hopefully, and if he had the opportunity, a quick shift of wardrobe just before getting there might just keep him out of notice.

Glass was content to follow her instructions, before she ran off and a certain Westerner chased after her. Sensing something obviously was afoot, he too rose from his seat and tried to chase after her. He wasn't the fastest person in the world, but he was close, and was hoping for some form of luck as he snaked his way through the crowds after her, trying to keep away from where large congregations of people would be. He didn't know much about the Wok's layout, but he was hoping he could make his way through it more efficiently than her, as well as simply faster.
